January was a busy month for the team at Vision Signmakers, with the high end fitout for the SolstadFarstad office being a top priority.
The new office on St Georges Terrace needed several different aspects of signage to complete the overall look and feel. Our main focus was the LED lettering for the entrance wall.
To construct this lettering we used 25mm thick opal acrylic which was routered out from the rear to create space for the LED lighting. Once this was done we created chains of LED strips within the letters, soldering each chain together. The lettering was finished off by fitting brushed silver, red and black translucent vinyl to the faces which was then mounted over the top of a digital printed wallpaper with matte overlaminate. The effect of the LED lighting over the wallpaper was really effective.
The second component for this fitout was a massive digitally printed frosting image of a fjord.
The printable frosting is an incredibly versatile product, creating privacy while also adding interest to an area. Applications work best when there is a lot of light coming through one side as the image is lit up from behind.
The final component for this fitout was many metres of digitally printed optical clear film, fitted to all of the office glazing partitions. The client decided to use an aerial view of the ocean to stay true to their roots.
This image was tiled by our graphic designer in order to seamlessly print each glazing section, allowing for the image to flow without interruption. The optical clear allows complete visibility through the film which makes it an attractive product to use in the office setting.
